Ramin “Ray” Mahdavi

Mr. Mahdavi joined Jaffe & Asher LLP in 2020 as the Managing Partner of the California office. Before joining the firm, he served as part of Jaffe & Asher’s network of local counsel for more than a decade.

Mr. Mahdavi comes with substantial experience in civil litigation with a strong emphasis in consumer financial services litigation. Mr. Mahdavi has represented major financial institutions, including national banks, in connection with providing a defense to various claims, including but not limited to, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Rosenthal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, etc.

Mr. Mahdavi also has extensive experience representing commercial lenders including merchant cash advance companies.

Mr. Mahdavi graduated from the University of California – Riverside in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Law and Society. He graduated from Western State University College of Law in 2006 where he earned his Juris Doctor degree.

Mr. Mahdavi received his California bar license in December 2006. He is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court – all districts of California, the Southern District of Colorado, and the District of New Mexico. He is also licensed to practice in the Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
